Jennifer Higgins is the Nursery Director at First Methodist Joshua. She has been working in ministry with children and youth, in some capacity, for 20 years.

Jennifer currently resides in Joshua with her husband of 24 years and they have three grown children. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading, serving others, and crafting.

An interview with Jennifer:

Favorite Sound ... hearing children laugh. You can't help but be joyful and happy when hearing children laugh and giggle. They always make me smile!

Do you bake? Yes! I enjoy baking, it's one thing that genuinely relaxes me.

The best way to de-stress is to  ... get lost in a great book!

Name three people - dead or alive - you would like to have dinner with: Barbara McKenzie, Lori McKenzie, and my grandmother. There would be great food, endless conversation, and lots of laughs.

What are you listening to right now? Southern Gospel. It's just the right amount of country music with a great message.

Favorite Flower ... Stargazer Lily. Not only are they pretty, but they smell wonderful too!

Nicole Hutchison is the Director of Discipleship and Outreach Ministries at First Methodist Church Joshua. She has been working in communications and business development for ten years, both inside and outside the church. She has served as interim youth director and has worked in human resources, marketing and public relations, and was a school teacher for three years. Nicole also leads adult Bible studies and manages the church's social media pages.

Nicole currently resides in Joshua with her husband of 10 years. They have one son. She enjoys reading, scrolling through social media, and returning to Kentucky among the small towns, big farms, and coal mines. In the Fall, you can find her in front of the television watching Alabama Crimson Tide football. She is also a die-hard University of Kentucky basketball fan.

An interview with Nicole:

Favorite Movie ... Home Alone and National Lampoon Christmas Vacation

Sonic Drink Order ... Route 44 sweet tea, easy ice.

The hardest part of being a mom ... avoiding the comparison trap. Is my child as smart as his classmates? Is he developing at the same rate as other kids his age? Social media and its "perfect" filters don't help but we have been blessed with the most amazing and healthy boy.

If you could play one instrument it would be ... piano.

Last gift you gave a friend ... I flew from DFW to Bismarck, North Dakota then rented a car and drove 2.5 hours to a tiny farming community to surprise my friend and attend her baby shower.

Last person you talked to on the phone ... my Mom.

Farthest you've traveled ... Tel Aviv, Israel. Visiting the Holy Land was truly unforgettable and I cannot wait to return someday!

Pam Phinney

Send Email  •  (817)558-9801

Pam Phinney has served as financial secretary at First Methodist Church Joshua since 2009. When she's not preparing reports or reconciling accounts, Pam is the director of Lay Servant Ministries in the Central Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. Her role is to work with conference leaders to identify, train, equip, nurture, and support lay servants to develop their gifts to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. She is also treasurer at Saginaw United Methodist Church.

In 2016, Pam was the recipient of the Morris Walker Award, which recognizes laity for exemplary service to their church, their community and the conference. She is a “preacher’s kid,” the daughter of Sidney Roberts, for whom the CTC’s Roberts Center for Leadership is named, and often quips “I am carrying on the family torch.”

Speaking of family, Pam lives across the street from her 92-year-young mother and next door to her daughter and three oldest grandchildren. Pam's son, daughter-in-law, and youngest granddaughter live a few blocks away also! They find every excuse to gather for a family meal. Pam is a die-hard fan of the Dallas Cowboys and can be found tailgating before every home game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

An interview with Pam:

Favorite Scripture ... Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments. ~ Matthew 22:37-40

Drink order at Sonic ... Large Diet Coke.

Favorite Dessert ... Oatmeal raisin cookies.

Best gift you've received ... a 1966 Ford Mustag with four in the floor. It was pale green with a black stripe down the middle, and off to college I went!

Favorite season ... Fall. Cooler nights and nature's colorful displays are incredible.
