  • JOSHUA CHRISTMAS PRADE

    Don't forget the annual Joshua Christmas Parade is THIS SATURDAY - November 25 - beginning at 6pm in the parking lot of Staples Elementary and concluding in our church parking lot. The vendor bazaar and pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause will be in the Lobby of the Worship Center until 8pm.


  • WONDER WOMEN OF THE BIBLE

    Be sure and join us for worship this Sunday, November 26 at 8:30 and 11am as our very own Kaitlyn Frantz will kick off a new sermon series - WONDER WOMEN OF THE BIBLE - with Rahab. You don't want to miss this!


  • WORSHIP SERVICE ATTENDANCE PADS

    Please continue to use the new attendance pads each Sunday during worship service. Attendance pads will be placed on the front row of each section. Please record your attendance every Sunday on the GUEST or DISCIPLE (regular attendee) pad then pass it down.


  • ADOPT AND ANGEL

    Please stop by and "adopt" an angel from the Christmas trees this Sunday.  There are TWO options this year and please read the directions about delivery very carefully: 

    • RED ANGELS are for residents at Colonial Manor Nursing Home and gifts (with angel attached) must be returned to the church on Sunday, December 10.
    • BLUE ANGELS are students in Joshua ISD and gifts (with angel attached) must be delivered to Joshua ISD Administration on Tuesday, December 19. Joshua ISD Administration Building is located at 310 E. 18th Street. If you are unable to deliver your gift(s) to the administration office, call Jill House (817-909-6697) for instructions.

     


  • ADVENT STUDY

    The first session of our Advent study, The Redemption of Scrooge, will take place during the Hanging of the Greens service Wednesday, November 29 at 6:30pm in the Worship Center. Dinner will be served in the gym at 5:30pm. Books will be available for purchase this Sunday before and after worship. Pastor Dale will continue the study every Wednesday at 10am and 6:30pm in Chedester Hall.


  • ADVENT EVENT - A NIGHT IN BETHELHAM

    Unpaid servants of ALL AGES are needed as actors, storytellers, shopkeepers, and tour guides during A Night in Bethlehem, a hands-on experience for children and families Sunday, December 3 at 4pm in the Gym. Participants will wander along bustling streets of Bethlehem and through the marketplace to discover what life was like the night Jesus was born meeting shopkeepers, create keepsakes to take home, and hear The Nativity Story like never before. 

    **ALSO NEEDED ..... 10x10 pop-up tents/canopies for shops and vendor booths in the marketplace. Contact Dana Gomez, children's ministry director, at 817-487-2400 or 682-215-7488 to coordinate delivery and setup in the gym the morning of Sunday, December 3.


  • YOUTH,PARENTS AND UNPAID SERVANT MEETING

    All youth, parents, and unpaid servants who work with students are meeting in Chedester Hall at 3:30pm Sunday, December 3. Immediately following this discussion, everyone is asked to serve at A Night in Bethlehem in the gym. 


  • TURN AND BURN

    First Methodist Joshua is honored to be part of the pilot initiative for TURN & LIVE, a Scripture-based health and wellness program created by Texas A&M University and taught by our County Extension Agent, Labeth Carter, every Monday evening at 6pm. Even if you were unable to attend the first session, come and be a part of this exciting opportunity!


  • ESL & GED NEEDS YOU

    Adult education classes are offered every Tuesday and Thursday evening and YOU have a vital role to play in the lives of every person who walks through our doors. For information on how you can help as an unpaid servant, contact Jennifer Higgins (K4j@sbcglobal.net).


  • CHRISTMAS EVE IN THE PARK

    MARK YOUR CALENDAR ... Christmas Eve in the Park is Sunday, December 24 at 5pm in Joshua's City Park (105 North Main). Bring your lawn chairs and blankets!


JUMPS - Joshua United Methodist Preschool

We offer the JUMPS program at FUMC Joshua in order to give children a safe place to be cared for in a Christian atmosphere where they can experience God’s love.

We believe that all children are gifts from God. Our mission is to minister to families by providing a quality children’s childcare ministry which offers parental peace of mind. We seek to provide spiritual, social, and academic growth for the children of these families.

Specifically, our classroom lessons are designed to help children do the following:

  • Acquire knowledge and an understanding of the world around them
  • Use language to effectively communicate and to facilitate learning and thinking.
  • Acquire and refine basic physical skills (gross and fine motor)
  • Develop an awareness of good health and safety practices
  • Develop a sense of curiosity, creativity, and imagination which will promote a lifelong love for learning

Daily activities at JUMPS include:

  • Learning Centers
  • Music and Movement
  • Indoor Recess/Playground
