If you're anxious to support relief efforts in South Texas after the devastating hurricane, the best way to contribute is through UMCOR Advance #901670, our connectional giving resource for The United Methodist Church. Every penny donated directly benefits local residents. If you prefer a hands-on approach, assemble flood buckets. Please keep all those affected, including first responders, in your prayers.

As South Texas residents and emergency response teams (ERTs) continue relief efforts after Hurricane Harvey, our prayers are with those in the path of Hurricane Irma, now a Category 5 storm. Flood buckets are desperately needed and can be assembled very quickly and easily. Financial contributions should be made to UMCOR Advance #901670.

If you would like to become an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member, contact Nicole Hutchison at 817-807-0979 or The next training is Saturday, October 14 (9am-5pm) at Acton UMC in Granbury. Registration ends October 9.

Students (at least 12 years of age or in the 6th grade) interested in Confirmation Class with Pastor Dale are invited to an information meeting with their parents/guardians this Sunday, September 3 at 6pm in Chedester Hall. Students will gather every Sunday, 6-7:30pm, and Confirmation Sunday will be celebrated at our Christmas Eve worship service. This is an 18-week commitment and regular attendance is required.

Thanks to Denton ISD Adult Education coordinators, First Methodist Joshua now hosts ESL and GED classes every Tuesday and Thursday evening. If you know someone who would benefit, encourage them to register! Unpaid servants are welcome to help with childcare or serve snacks.
